CAS-Colour and Sketches #27

Happy Friday Eve,

Today I have my card for our 'double' challenge at CAS-Colour and Skecthes. That means we have both a colour combo and a sketch for you. The challenge is to combine both of these to create a CAS card.
Here are the colours and the sketch:

I thought long and hard about this and to be honest thought I wouldn't come up with an idea but then a new set of stamps arrived and an idea just popped into my head:

This sentiment is from the Fresh Squeezed Stamps and I just inked it up in black and red. I added the 2 bigger stars, inked off in the green and grey colours. To finish my card I used a star embossing folder to give me the line at the bottom and to balance the whole card I added two simple score lines at the top.
I am actually really happy with how this turned out especially after the hours of not getting an idea!

I am sending this to a friend I went to school with but I rarely see. She is one of those friend that you know is, and, will be there always.

Now pop over to our bog here and check OUT the cards ouR DT have made to inspire you to play along.

I will also enter this into the 'focus on the sentiment challenge' at Lexi's Creations and the CAS challenge at Stamps and Fun=Creativity and the 'Use Sentiments' challenge at Crazy Challenge

Enjoy!

Addicted to Stamps and More #47

Hello my crafting friends,

This week at Addicted to Stamps and More the challenge is to 'make your mark'. This means you must use some kind of marker on your project-promakers, copics, stampin' writes etc.
I don't use markers much so for me this type of challenge really is a challenge!

I went for a small square card and used the layered marker technique:

I used various shades of yellow and blue promarkers for the main sections of the flowers. Then used a grey marker to outline the flowers and stem to give a shading effect. I finished off the flowers by outlining the edge of the petals and stem with a 'sakura gelly roll' pen to add some shimmer. The main flower is popped up on a foam pad for dimension.
Pop over to our blog here and see the fabulous ways that our DT have 'made their mark'!! Then get stamping and let us see your mark!

And this week you have the chance to win 2 sheets of digi images from our sponsors Whoopsie Daisy

I will also be entering this into the 'flowers' challenge at Hobby Cutz Challenges and the die cut/punches challenge at Crafting when we can

Have fun x

Happy Monday my friends,

My card today is again using my new PTI 'watermark wonder' set but this time to make a more girly Birthday card.

This time I decided to use some melon embossing powder to give me the top watermark and then some soft pink ink for the second 2. I added texture using the PTI linen embossing folder.

I am going to enter this into the following challenges:

Believe!

Happy Friday,

Today I have a card I made using one of my Birthday crafting presents from my cousin Lynn-the 'watermark wonder' set from PTI. I had so much fun playing with this set and made a few cards trying out different designs.
Today I have one of these cards that was inspired by this photo at For Your Inspiration

I was inspired by the long tall trunks that seemed to be forming a tunnel to the burst of yellow colour. I took these elements and made this tall and thin card:

I do love how this turned out!
I am going to enter this into the 'green and yellow' challenge at Make My Monday and the 'CAS' challenge at A blog named Hero

CAS-Colour and Sketches.

Here we are at Friday Eve again! And I hope you are having a good one. This week at CAS-Colour and Sketches we have this sketch for you:

This is a great sketch for a CAS card and I had a lot of fun making this card:

I have heat embossed the dress form with vanilla. I made this card for Ruth a crafting friend who loves dress stamps and dies and who introduced me to heat embossing! Ruth loves to decorate the inside of her cards so naturally I have done this for her:

Pop over to our blog here and see what fabulous cards our DT have created from this weeks sketch, then play along, we are looking forward to viewing your creations!

Addicted to Stamps and More #46

Hello my crafting friends,

This week at Addicted to Stamps and More our challenge is 'Anything Goes'. Yes, that is right, you can create what you like!

I have not gone very wild but stuck with what I love most in the world of card making...CAS!!

I did however try 'glimmer mist' for the fist time. I have had a bottle of 'perfect pearls' bronze glimmer mist on my crafting table for a while. It sits there and tempts me to play but, until I made this card, I had been a bit scared of trying this out. But, yet again, when I stepped out of my comfort zone, I had fun and liked the end result. See what you think?

I think this could be a great card for a guy or girl or made into a set of notelets using different sentiments and colours!

Our DT have created some fab projects so pop over to our blog here and be inspired. Then get stamping and remember this week Whoopsie Daisy are our sponsors and you could win 2 sheets of digi images!

I am going to enter this into the following challenges:
Make it Monday with the Kraft Outlet-celebrations
Artistic Impressions-cards for Men

Inkspirational #20

Happy Saturday crafting buddies,

I am here to encourage you to take part in our case challenge this week at Inkspirational. You still have time to take part. This week we have this fabulous card created by Lee

How to make large rounded corners 018

I loved how her card was CAS but still with a lovely ribbon and a row of gems. So these are the features I focused on when making my card:

I have heat embossed the image and my black embossing powder has managed to get some flecks of silver in it-those are what look like white bits in the photo-but IRL they sparkle, so this is why I chose this sentiment! I did want to do a bow but my bow tying mojo had gone walkies when I made this so I decided to keep it simple!! This card is going to a girlfriend and I think it is perfect for her, a bit of glam for a classy Lady!!
Head over to our blog here to get some more inspiration from our DT, then start getting inky!!

And this month we are being sponsored by Tammy at Creatively Me and she had donated all these goodies for our monthly winner:

I am also going to enter this card into the following challenges:
Lexis Challenges-black, white and one other colour
Created With Love-Birthday Bling

Muse #17

Happy Friday,
The weekend is nearly here and this week I am pleased to say that I had chance to play along at the Muse Club. I missed out last week so I was really happy to say when I saw Therese's card this week an idea came to me immediately and eventually I got around to making my card!
It was the layer of 3 elephants that got me thinking about doing some shaded stamping with my set of stamps from Fresh Squeezed Stamps. I wanted to layer the cityscape so it looked like lines of buildings in a city. To do this I just stamped off the second layer using the same black ink as the first one and my third layer is 'London Fog' memento ink-kinda apt for my cityscape as you can guess it was London I was thinking of when I did this!
I just wanted to keep it all CAS and in these classic colours to reflect how I feel a city should be!

Very different from Therese's card but it was the layered elephants that gave me this idea!!

I am also going to enter this into the 'keep it simple' challenge at Crafty Creations
Have a fun weekend and before I leave her is Therese's card:

CAS-Colour and Sketches

Happy Friday Eve to all,

Today is not only a new colour combo challenge at CAS-Colour and Sketches but also my Birthday! Yes, one year older but some how I just don't seem to get one year wiser!! I will be celebrating with a meal tonight with my hubby and then on Saturday we are off to theatre to continue with the celebrations. And guess what I have got for my pressie?? Yes, you got it....crafting goodies and more crafting goodies!

And back to our challenge. This week the combo is:

I found some coral card stock and then did some masking and sponging with distress ink to make my card. The green is too dark and I did try to lighten it by sponging it with a coral ink but it still didn't make it as light as I wanted. So remember, you just need to get colours as close as you can to our combo and not to worry too much if the shade is not quite right......take my card as an example! I tried my first go at doodling around the edge with a promaker pen and also spritzed the sponged area to give the watermark effect-another first!

Our DT have some made some wonderful cards using this combo so take a peek here and then visit their blogs  and leave them some loving comments.
I will also be entering this into the CAS challenge at Totally Paper Crafts and the Flowers challenge at Love to Create

Addicted to Stamps and More #45

Happy Wednesday Stamping friends,

This week at Addicted to Stamps and More with have this gorgeous photo to inspire you to create:

Isn't this such a lovely Summer photo that is bursting with so many features that could inspire you. The window, the window box, the flowers, the chairs, the colours......and so much more!
I was immediately drawn to the  light coloured wood panel walls and took my inspiration from this to make my card:

I wanted the focus of this card to be on the texture created by the wood grain embossing plate, so kept the card as CAS as possible. I have heat embossed the sentiment in vanilla to match the card stock.

I am pleased with how this card turned out and love that it was inspired by such a wonderful photo. I am really looking forward to seeing what this photo inspires you to create and will be dropping in to your blogs to have a look. Before you get stamping take a look at what our fab DT have created this week here
And don't forget that this week Whoopsi Daisy are sponsoring us and you could have the chance to win 2 sheets of digi images!

I am entering this into the 'CAS' challenge at Movin' Along with the times and 'just add woodgrain' at a new blog I have just joined Just Add Ink
Have fun!

Happy Birthday Mynnette!

Good Morning and welcome to a very special day.........Mynnette's Birthday!

Mynnette is our super organised and inspirational leader at Inkspirational and Ellen has, on the quiet, been organising a blog hop to celebrate Mynnette's Birthday. We have all chosen one of Mynnette's cards to CASE and posted these on our blogs..awaiting you to visit us and leave us some love!!

Why not join in our celebrations and not only will you have some fun but also have a chance to win some blog candy!!
Here is what you have to do:

You will need to visit the blogs of all the ladies taking part. There is a full list at Inkspirational. Hopefully you will have arrived here from the very talented Shauna, left her a loving comment, then after me hop on over to the ever sparkly and super crafty Ruth before hoping on further.......you don't have to go in order, just visit all taking part, leave comments and some blog candy could be yours!!

I chose one of Mynnette's card where she had used bubble wrap and silver embossing. I had such fun with the bubble wrap inking and think that part of my card turned out o.k. But I have to say my silver embossing was not so good, it is hard to read the words and on reflection I should have just stamped the sentiment. However I wanted to stay true to Mynnette's gorgeous card and decided to post this anyway!

And here is Mynnette's original.........the real expert!!

So Mynnette, this is my CASE of your card to wish you a very Happy Birthday.

Hop over now to Ruth's blog and then carrying on down the list to be in for a chance of winning the candy. And you know who needs the most love today...... Mynnette...... so pop by and say a big Happy Birthday to her!!

Have fun my friends xx

Be Strong!

Happy and a chilled Sunday to you all,

Yesterday I got some new stamps from Fresh Squeezed Stamps and was so excited to get playing! But Saturday hubby and I have a ritual of a chilled morning in our local cafe. So after we had our fill of caffeine and gossip we both came back to a respective hobbies.....me getting inky with my new stamps while he produced his music on the other side of our creative space (our spare bedroom!!).

My card today was inspired firstly by the picture below at For Your Inspiration. I had lots of ideas for this but the grey stones kept popping into my head and the strength of the lighthouse against the environmental elements, so this is what I went with. Then I saw the sketch below at CAS(E) this Sketch, loved it and wanted to create something for it. And what to you know, my new stamps provided the final piece of inspiration I needed to combine these challenges. I am also going to enter this into the CAS challenge at Sweet Stampin'

And here is what I came up with:

Enjoy your Sunday my friends x

Inkspirational #19

Happy Saturday fellow stampers,

Its a new challenge at Inkspirational and this week we have a photo to inspire you:

When I saw this I immediately wanted to stamp balloons but after playing around for quite a few days with this idea I had to walk away and forget about this as it really wasn't working for me! I hoped that another idea would pop into my head. And after a few days I was looking outside watching a plane fly into the sunset and I knew what I wanted to do.........use the colours of the balloon to represent the sunset and instead of balloons in the sky I would have birds (I thought this was more romantic than a plane!).
And here is what I came up with:

I used distress ink to make my sunset after masking off the area. I have scored the top and the bottom although you can't see this too well in the photo.

I do love photo challenges as it interests me where your inspirations takes you. I started off with balloons then ended up using the colours and the flying aspect of the photo. I am looking forward to seeing what this photo inspires you to make and would love to hear how you got there.
Pop over to our blog here and see what fab projects our DT were inspired to make.
And then get stamping and remember this month our winner will get all these goodies from Tammy of Creatively Me

I am also entering this into the 'Anything that Flies' challenges at Make My Monday and the 'birds' challenge at Crazy Amigo Challenges
Have fun x

CAS-Colour and Sketches.

Happy Friday Eve and I hope you are all ready for a our sketch challenge at CAS-Colour and Sketches. This week we have this great CAS sketch for you:

I have flipped the sketch and changed the shape and used 3 little sentiments for the circles. My very own CAS version and a card for my Dad's Birthday. He is a golf addict so these stamps from paper smooches are perfect for him.

I used kraft as Dad has mentioned a few times that he likes the cards I make using this. I added a few buttons that came from my Mum's box of old buttons. The dark green card has been scored for extra texture.
Out DT have some great cards to inspire you so pop over to our blog here and leave then some love!
I am looking forward to seeing what cards you are inspired to make-happy stamping and inking x

Today the challenge is to make a 'Clean and Simple' card. I do love CAS cards so this was a perfect week to begin my time at Addicted to Stamps and More

And here is my card:

I know Christmas in May!! But I do like to be prepared and now I have hubby's card all done and S.W.A.L.K! This is the name of the kiss stamp I have heat embossed in silver. I added a few score lines and a simple but apt sentiment!

Inkspirational #18

I am here with my 'end of week encouragement' card for challenge #18 at Inkspirational. If you haven't played along yet, you still have a few more days. We have this colour combo for you this week:

You know I love purple and mixed with green is a combo that sits well with me but then add peach and I am a bit stumped! But I did find some peach paper in my stash and used this as backing and now I think it really is a funky colour combo. Sometimes it is good when these challenges push you out of your comfort zone!

I went for a small square card and used the SU delicate doilies set. These have been heat embossed with purple ink and clear embossing powder. I have popped one up for a bit of dimension. I decided not to add a sentiment and just stamp off the right hand corners with a peach ink doily.

I have ended up with a card that I really like and know exactly who this is for!

Tammy of Creatively Me is sponsoring us this month and offering a our monthly winner all these fabulous goodies:

Our DT have some great projects to share with you so take a peek here and then get inky!

CAS-Colour and Sketches

We have a gorgeous colour combo for you this week at CAS-colour and Sketches and to me I knew I had to make a guy card with these colours:

I do love the orange and blue together. And here is my guy card using these colours (or as near as I could get)

I have stamped these paper smooches ties and then coloured them with promakers. In this photo the blue promaker appears really light however IRL it is more navy!
I think this is a perfect CAS card for a guy and as I have a few male Birthdays coming up this seemed a perfect excuse to get some cards made ready.
Take a look at the wonderful cards our DT have made here then get stamping x

As I have used all Paper Smooches stamps I will be entering this into the 'Anything goes' challenge at Paper Smooches Sparks.

Muse #15

Happy Wednesday my friends,

This week the super talented Jen created this fabulous card to inspire us at the Muse Club. My card is quite different from Jen's but it was the butterfly that first struck me then her explanation of how she likes to use black as it is a great contrast colour. This is where I started and I did try a few different butterfly die cuts but in the end I just used ink and stamps! This is for my Mum's Birthday. Mum has been saying for a while she wished I would make some more long, thin cards so I decided to make one just for her!

I hope she will like it, it doesn't have the bows she loves but does has some gems and is the shape she loves!

I will also enter this into the following challenges:

Cas-ual Fridays-Birthday bash
ABC Challenges-Mothers Day

Here is Jen's card:

Enjoy your day x
